So, for the second week in a row, wireless problems provided a pain-in-the-Internet hurdle for friday football.
Although the Loganville press box was chalked full of helpful things like team rosters, chairs and lights (what, did you think all high school football teams had these luxuries? Go on down to Madison County, friends), they also didn't have Internet.
We have been (very poorly) utilizing our own wireless card from Verizon that seems to always either not be strong enough, get lost, not work or get stuck between the cracks in our offices.
This week, it was the latter, and your humble narrator had to sprint away from our head-hanging Seminoles and the "Storm" Johnson (Loganville running back, who is sure to land at FSU, LSU or some other money-making college football acronym) and find some wireless.
Here's were the hero of this story comes in.
The last light on in town in Loganville seemed to be Fox's Den Pizza on 81, so I creeped by praying to the opposite of the team's Red Devil mascot to try and get some 'net in my life.
The folks at The Den (as it will now be called) took me in, put a roof over my head, a booth under my buns and some wireless magic into my computer. They even turned me onto their special "wedgie" sandwiches, which are as tasty as they sound painful and demoralizing.
And that's the path the Salem game story traveled on Friday -- from me to Fox's to you.
