The competition heated up in the peak of summer as six gymnastics teams from across the state strutted their stuff at the Summer Sizzler Gymnastics meet held at Rockdale Gymnastics Cheerleading and Dance on July 10.
Along with representatives from across the state, the meet also featured three gymnasts from Rockdale County.
Grace Davis and Heather Boozer competed at the USAG Level 6 and Sydney Woody took to the mats and the balance beam as a USAG Level 5 competitor.
Woody took home the first place medal on the vault and finished fourth on the floor, fourth all around, seventh on the bars and sixth on the balance beam.
Davis had two third place finishes on the vault and bars, and finished in fifth on the floor, the beam and all around. Boozer finished second on the bars, and fourth on the vault, beam floor and all around.
The three earned their standings against the Georgia Elite Gymnastics, Taylor Made Gymnastics, DEENOS Gymnastics, Precision Gymnastics and GGA-Lawrenceville.
"I think we had a very good turnout for this meet, and our girls did very well," said meet director and gym owner, Drew Davis. "It was an off-season meet, but I still think everything turned out great."
